Njupeskär is Sweden's highest freefall waterfall. On a few days during midsummer sunlight reaches the far end of the waterfall and turns the rock a vibrant red.

In naturum, the visitor center, you will find an exhibition about the nationalpark. Lectures, birdmornings, guided tours and outdoor activities are common events. Here you can also get advice and tips on excursions and hikes.
Skärvallen is an old settlement at the edge of the mountain. Back in the day, local farmers would spend their summers in this area, allowing their cows to graze freely. Today you can still see the old farm houses.
Fulufjället Nationalpark is home to the oldest tree in the world - Old Tjikko. With a proud age of over 9550 years, it has been standing on Fulufjället since the last ice age.

Experience the beauty and peace of the mountain lakes on Fulufjället. Hike to lake Rörsjö (↔6km/9km) lake Harsjö (↔12km/18km) or lake Tangsö (↔14km/21km).
The old-growth spruce forest of Fulufjället national park looks like enchanted with its hanging lichens, twisted trees, and diversity of fungi and mosses. Visit Göljån that was hit by a flashflood in 1997 and see the dead wood and the new life that came along with it.

Why don't start your hike right outside Fulufjällsgården? Through lush forest, along a stream you can hike all the way up to the waterfall and Old Tjikko. You can also hike up to the abandoned farm Stenvallen where you feel like you've stepped back in time.
Fulufallen is a hidden gem that not many people know about. This beautifull cascade waterfall is easily accessible (↔3,4km). Watch the sun disappear behind the mountains from the Erik Knutsåsen viewpoint.
The old-growth forest and mountain areas of Fulufjället national park are the perfect place for birdwatching. Here you can encounter the siberian jay family, the common greenshank and the willow grouse among many others.
If you are lucky you might also spot the three-toed woodpecker, the goldcrest or the gyrfalcon.
